SCHOOL-BASED SERVICES

Connect 4Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA 2004), school-based therapy is defined as a “related service,” available to students who receive special education, when the service is “required for a child with a disability to benefit from his or her special education program”.These services serve as a supportive role in helping the student participate in the school environment, curriculum, and educationally related learning experiences. Therapy services within the school also focus on collaboration with the educational Sensory Funteam and parents, with everyone responsible for the outcomes.

SCREENINGS/EVALUATIONS

Evaluations are often conducted for a variety of reasons. Concerns with motor delays, sensory processing, handwriting difficulty, feeding/mealtime issues, etc. can all be assessed by our highly skilled practitioners.  We do an extensive evaluation involving clinical observations, parent and teacher interviews, and a variety of standardized assessments.  For more information please contact us here.

CONSULTATIONS

Consultation services are customized to the need of the child, family, and staff. They can be completed on an: hourly, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.
