TELEHEALTH

Pediatric occupational therapy involves the use of purposeful play-based activity and/or therapeutic interventions designed to facilitate functional outcomes. We strive to promote the highest possible level of independence of any child that may have physical, cognitive, emotional, or psychosocial demands that are typically extreme and may interfere with the child’s everyday life.

Telehealth is a term that describes occupational therapy services that are provided through telecommunication or remotely. This includes evaluation, consultation, preventative, and therapeutic services. Telehealth is quickly gaining traction as an evidence-based delivery model for occupational therapy services and has proved to be as effective as direct, in-person therapy.

At Thriving Kids Therapy, occupational therapy practitioners use telehealth to provide specific interventions to improve occupational performance in a broad range of areas. A key benefit of this service delivery model is the empowerment of caregivers and the educational team to implement therapeutic strategies with the children for carryover outside of the occupational therapy session. Please contact us if you would like more information.
