Pediatric occupational therapy involves the use of purposeful play-based activity or therapeutic interventions designed to facilitate functional outcomes. We strive to promote the highest possible level of independence of any child that may have physical, cognitive, emotional or psychosocial demands that are typically extreme and may interfere with the child’s everyday life.
Sometimes parent/classroom support is needed but direct service is not quite required to address concern areas for both typical children and children with special needs. A solution for this is using a collaborative model through our consultations. Consultation services can be provided at our clinic, as well as in pre-schools, schools, vocational or community settings. Consultations are customized to the need of the child, family and staff. They can be completed on an: hourly, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. A referral is NOT required for these services.
Consultation Services may address:
- Attention to task / Direction following
- Auditory Processing
- Sensory Modulation
- Behavior Management
- Fine Motor Skills
- Visual Motor Skills
- Handwriting Development
- Social Skills
- Feeding/Mealtime Skills
- Classroom Modifications
- Staff Education and Training
